Obituary

Robert J. “Bob” Haynes, Sr. 77, of Snow Shoe, passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at his home. Born on January 17, 1942, he was the son of the late Eversley and Agnes Aikey Haynes, Sr. On June 10, 1967, at the Snow Shoe Presbyterian Church, he married Sara A. Butterworth, who survives at home.
Bob was a 1959 graduate of Bald Eagle Area High School. He was enlisted in the United States Army Reserves. He earned the rank of SP4 and received his honorable discharge on December 7, 1969.
Bob was of the protestant faith. He was a self-employed truck driver. He hulled for various companies in the area. He enjoyed going the family camp, hunting, and working in his yard. His favorite pastime was taking his dog, “Tobi” for car rides. They would go every day. When Bob’s health wouldn’t allow it anymore, Tobi and Bob would sit on the sofa and look out the window and watch traffic. Tobi will really miss Bob.
Bob is survived by his wife, son; Robert J. Haynes, Jr of Snow Shoe, one brother, George Haynes and his wife, Debbie, of Moshannon, two sisters; Nancy Bjerky of N. Carolina, and Elsie Craigo of Ohio. Also surviving is one grandson, Justin Kleczek of Belleville.
Alone with his parents, Bob was preceded in death by one brother, Eversley “Tom” Haynes, and four sisters; Virginia Berger, Patricia __ , Ann Martin, and Jean Haynes.
Following Bob’s wishes, there will be no public services.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, 106 W. Sycamore St. Snow Shoe. An online guest book can be signed or condolences to the family available at www.daughenbaughfuneralhome.com.
