Obituary

Richard S. “Dick” Gummo, 82, of Bellefonte, passed away peacefully on July 10. 2019. Born June 30, 1937, he was the son of the late William F. and Agnes D. Yakich Gummo. On November 21, 1960, in Maryland, he married Linda L Shuey who survives at home.
Dick was a 1954 graduate of Bellefonte Area High School. After graduation, he served in the Army National Guard. He worked for Warner Company as a laborer and certified welder, retiring in 2000 after 43 years of service.
Dick enjoyed being outdoors and surrounded by nature, whether it was hunting, fishing, or sitting on his front porch. He also enjoyed gardening and cooking.
Dick is survived by his wife, one son Richard S. Gummo II and his wife Kelly, of Honey Brook, and two daughters Susan L. Wilson and her companion Thomas Worthy, of Centre Hall and Tina M. Youtzy and her husband Joel, of Gettysburg, as well as his five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Dick is also survived by his brother John M. Gummo and his spouse Terry Rodkey, of Philipsburg, and six sisters Louise Kustenborder of Huntingdon, Connie Cramer and her husband Leslie, of Marsh Creek, Sharon Gummo of Bellefonte, Rebecca Gummo of Philipsburg, Sandy Smeltzer and her husband Don, of Bellefonte and Geri Lowry of Bellefonte.
Along with his parents, Dick was preceded in death by his three brothers Joseph Gummo, William Gummo, and Robert Gummo, his sister Elizabeth Gummo, and his granddaughter Patience Bumbarger.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Hope Fund of Penns Valley, PO Box 427, Centre Hall, PA 16828.
