Nancy L. Baranak, 80, of Clarence, passed away on Monday, January 18, 2021 at her home. Born on November 20, 1940, in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Virginia (Baney) Snook. On August 24, 1963, in Bellefonte, she married James K. Baranak, who survives at home.
Nancy was a 1958 graduate of Bellefonte Area High School. She was a homemaker for most of her adult life but worked part time as a nursing aid for home health agencies for many years.
Nancy was a good person. She was always wanting to help people. She was a good cook and baker. Her favorite pastime was sitting in her rocking chair, on her porch, either watching the birds at her bird feeders or gazing at the stars. She loved to create beautiful flower gardens and read Stephen King books.
Nancy is survived by her husband, James, three sons: James A. Baranak and his wife, Rose, of McClure; Timothy Baranak of Clarence, and Donald K. Baranak and his companion, Kelly Shutt, of Port Matilda, nine grandchildren: Malee, Brandon, Travis, Josh, Cody, Gage, Madison, James Jr., and Cory, and numerous great grandchildren.
Also surviving Nancy are her siblings: Larry Snook; Virginia “Jenny” Karlesses; Faith Workman and her husband, Bill; Gloria Stine and her husband, Doug; Patricia Roan; Shirley Taylor; Linda Spangler and her husband, George; and Barb Decker, all of Bellefonte.
Along with her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by two daughter in-laws: Joyce Baranak and Kathern Baranak, one sister and five brothers.
There will be a private graveside service for Nancy at the Centre County Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Catherine W. Dittman officiating.
