Mildred I. Haynes, 86, of Snow Shoe, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at her home. Born on November 6, 1933, in Rush Township, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Margaret (Fye) Carlson. On January 15, 1954, in Snow Shoe, she married Eversley T. Haynes, Jr. Eversley preceded Mildred in death.
Mildred attended the Snow Shoe High School. She was a member of the Snow Shoe United Methodist Church. Even though she was unable to attend for many years, she held on to her faith and belief in God.
Mildred was a homemaker. She was an excellent cook and baker. One would say baking was her hobby. She would make Halloween cupcakes and pass them to all the children and did that for many years. She would make cookies and cakes for family, friends and special events. Mildred also enjoyed reading, shopping, painting, crocheting, knitting, putting puzzles together, and any kind of arts and crafts. Besides baking, her favorite pastime was being with her family especially her grandchildren.
Mildred is survived by five children, Thomas A. Haynes of Snow Shoe, Cynthia A. Graham and her husband, Howard, of Grassflat, William J. Haynes of Snow Shoe, Robert G. Haynes of Snow Shoe, and Richard D. Haynes and his wife, Robin, of Julian.
Also surviving are her six grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and three sisters, Vivian Miller of Lock Haven, Barbara Rigg of Snow Shoe, and Naomi Wolfe of Runville.
Along with her parents and husband, Mildred was preceded in death by eight brothers and three sisters.
Following Mildred’s wishes, there will be no services.
