Obituary for Mae L Uzzell

Mae LaRue Uzzell, 89, formerly of Snow Shoe, passed away on Saturday, December 18. 2021, at the Centre Care Nursing Home in Bellefonte. Born on November 6, 1932, in Snow Shoe, she was the daughter of the late Clinton and Irene (Quick) Cramer. On June 26, 1954, at the Milesburg Presbyterian Church, she married James R. Uzzell. James passed away on September 19, 1990.

Mae was a 1950 graduate of Snow Shoe High School. She was a member of the Snow Shoe Presbyterian Church until it closed and then attended the Winburne Presbyterian Church. Mae was a homemaker.

Mae enjoyed gardening, spending time with her family and friends and relaxing on her front porch.

Mae is survived by two daughters: Susan L. Saxman of State College and Lisa McMaster and her husband, John, of Snow Shoe, two grandchildren: James McMaster of Snow Shoe and Justin Saxman of West Chester.

Along with her parents and husband, Mae was preceded in death by a son in law, John Saxman, two brothers; Albert F. Cramer and Courdes “Butch” Cramer, and two sisters; Marjorie Petrie and Gladys Barnyak.

All services will be private. Burial will be at the Centre County Memorial Park.

Mae’s family would like to give a special thank you to the caregivers that helped keep their mother living at home and with the transition to assisted living and nursing home. Thank you, Mary Halsnik, Danielle Wallace, Karen Murgas, and Charlene Schall; and to the caring staff at Centre Care Nursing Home.
