Elva J. Stasko, 75, of Snow Shoe, passed away at the Hershey Medical Center on Saturday, October 6, 2018 Born on July 27, 1943, in Burnside Township, she was the daughter of the late Thomas F. and Mary S. Burfield Collar.
Elva attended Bald Eagle Area High School. She was of the Protestant faith. She was a cook at various restaurants in the area until her retirement.
Elva enjoyed fishing, crocheting, puzzles, and cooking. She liked to watch the wildlife outside her living room window. She thoroughly enjoyed natures beauty. Her favorite pastime was being with her grandchildren.
Elva is survived by her son, Joseph R. Stasko and his wife, Jennifer, of Blanchard, four grandchildren; Kristi Summers, Jessica Stasko, Joseph Stasko Jr., and Jade Stasko, and three great grandchildren; Curtis Summers, Makayla Conaway, and Damyan Summers.
Also surviving are her five sisters; Violet Blair, Milly Stasko, and Dorothy Collar all of Moshannon, Nancy Stern of Clarence, and Barbara Lucas of Vero Beach, FL, and by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Along with her parents, Elva was preceded in death by one son, Andrew P. “Dutch” Stasko, Jr, one grandson, Andrew P. Stasko, III, four brothers; Arnold “Sonny”, Jerry, John, and Emery and six sisters; Alice, Vivian, Martha, Mary, Joyce, and Rose.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 from 10-12 noon at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Snow Shoe. Following Elva’s wishes, there will be no funeral services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, Inc. 106 W. Sycamore St. Snow Shoe, PA 16874.
