Edna J. Muirhead, 65, of Snow Shoe, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2020 at her home. Born on November 1, 1954, in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of the late Edward L. and Caroline B (Almashie) Muirhead.

Edna was a 1972 graduate of Bald Eagle Area High School. After high school, she went to work at Corning Glass Works in State College. She worked there until their closing in 2004. She earned a CNA and went to work at Centre Crest Nursing Home in Bellefonte. She enjoyed her job at Centre Crest, helping the residents, especially in the Dementia Ward. And they all enjoyed having her being there, especially on the days she would give them treats.

Edna was a member of the Snow Shoe United Methodist Church, Snow Shoe Fire Company, and of the Clarence American Legion Auxiliary. She also was a past member and served as past president of the Snow Shoe Ambulance Club where she was an EMT for many years.

Edna was an avid genealogist, working of the family history and family tree. She enjoyed crocheting, working on ceramics, photographing, cake decorating, and making home made candy. She was a prankster and liked to see people pranked. She was very community oriented and would help with many fund-raising activities. She had a tough exterior but was a soft-hearted woman that loved helping others and being with her family.

Edna is survived by her son, John E. Muirhead and his wife, Carmen, of Argyle, TX; two grandchildren that she absolutely adored, Vivienne and Ethan. Also surviving are her two sisters, Gloria J Lohr and her husband, Larry, of Bellefonte and Carol A Butterworth of State College, one brother, Steven J. Muirhead and his wife, Kathy of Snow Shoe, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In following Edna’s wishes, all services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either the Snow Shoe EMS. PO Box 271, Snow Shoe, PA 16874 or to the Snow Shoe Fire Co. PO Box 95, Snow Shoe, PA 16874.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, 106 W. Sycamore St. Snow Shoe. An online guest book can be signed or condolences to the family available at
