Obituary for Dennis M "Micky" Drapcho

Dennis M. “Micky” Drapcho, 81, formerly of Clarence, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at Centre Care Nursing Home in Bellefonte. Born on December 2, 1940, in Clarence, he was the son of the late John and Anna (Hudak) Drapcho.

Micky was a 1958 graduate of the Snow Shoe High School. He enlisted in the United States Air Force on October 1, 1961, earned the rank of A2C and received his honorable discharge on July 12, 1962, followed by two years and eight months of service in the reserves.

Micky worked at Piper Aircraft for 25 years and then in the maintenance department for Penn Dot, retiring after 15 years of service.

Micky was an active member of the Queen of Archangels Parish Church in Clarence, and he was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed hunting, camping, woodworking, and family gatherings. He was an avid Penn State sports fan. He was a member of the Ridge Crest Camp and Clarence American Legion Post 813.

Micky was the last of his generation. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers: John Drapcho, Edward Drapcho, Aloysius Drapcho, Frances Drapcho, and George Drapcho, and one sister, Marcella Pachipka.

Micky is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be on Monday, August 8, 2022, from 6-8pm with a rosary service at 7:45pm at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Snow Shoe. Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at 11am, at the Queen of Archangels Parish Church in Clarence with Father Michael Pleva officiating, followed by graveside service with full military honors at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery in Clarence.
